Relive Victoria’s Year

December 31, 2015 | News written by: Cristian | Leave a comment (0)

2015 has been a pretty great year for our favorite girl. From cover shoots to tv shows. Relive with was the amazing moments in Victoria’s year.

Victoria rang in 2015 by hosting MTV’s New Year’s Eve 2015 special.

A few days later, MTV aired a special on MTV called ‘Being Victoria Justice‘ which you can get on iTunes here

But the best was yet to come.

On January 12th, MTV premiered ‘Eye Candy‘, a thriller series starring Victoria.

Eye Candy centers on tech genius Lindy, a 21-year-old woman who is persuaded by her roommate, Sophia, to begin online dating. Unfortunately, she begins to suspect that one of her suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. She teams up with her friends, a band of hackers, to solve the murders he committed while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York City in an attempt to find her sister, Sara, who was kidnapped three years earlier.

Eye Candy‘ is available on iTunes here.

Unfortunately ‘Eye Candy‘ didn’t get picked up for a second season but great things were coming for Victoria.

On May 5th, Victoria guest-starred on NBC’s ‘Undateable‘.

You can buy the episode on iTunes here.

Another highlight of Victoria’s year was the release of her indie movie ‘Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List‘.

Naomi and Ely have loved each other their whole lives, even though Ely isn’t exactly into girls. The institution of a “No Kiss List” has prevented the two from rifts in the past, but bonds are tested when they both fall for the same guy.

You can buy ‘Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List‘ on iTunes here.

Speaking of movies, on May 15th Victoria revealed the official poster of her upcoming movie ‘The Outskirts‘ set to premiere in 2016.

But not everything in 2015 was about acting, Victoria, MAX and Kurt Schneider joined forces yet again and did an amazing Justin Timberlake cover. Check out the video below.

But that wasn’t the last time we got to hear Victoria’s voice. Victoria and a bunch of other famous singers featured in ‘Love Song To The Earth‘, a song to support climate change.

You can buy ‘Love Song To The Earth‘ on iTunes here.

We also got to see our favorite girl on the cover of various magazine. She looked amazing in all fo them!

But the best news of the year was yet to come…

On August 28th it was announced that Victoria had inked an overall talent deal with Fox and Twentieth Century Fox Television! Victoria will be guest starring on some of the networks’ shows and will hopefull star on her own show in the future.

As part of that deal, Victoria filmed her first guest starring role for FOX’s ‘Cooper Barrett‘ recently.

2015 was definitely an amazing year for Victoria but 2016 is looking even more amazing! We can’t wait to see what the new year brings for her!

[NEWS] Victoria Justice sits down with Kidsday

November 18, 2015 | News written by: Eliza | Leave a comment (0)

We met one of our favorite singers and actresses, Victoria Justice, when she was in Manhattan recently.

Why do you think your shows are so successful?

I feel really lucky to have done some successful things. I think “Victorious” was really successful because I think people love music. So to be able to incorporate that into the show was really fun and what girl, and probably a lot of boys, secretly don’t really want to be on stage singing and dancing and doing their thing? It’s so much fun. It’s a great place for creative expression. I’ve also worked with a lot of amazing people, like a lot of talented people — the cast of “Victorious,” the cast of “Eye Candy,” which is a show I did for MTV. I guess they’ve been successful because they’ve been about interesting topics that I think are really relatable but intriguing at the same time.

How do you feel about being in public? Do you like it all the time?

Most of the time I’m always happy to take pictures with people and say hi. And I like being able to make people’s day, like make someone smile. I think that’s a really cool thing that I’m able to do. But at the same time there are definitely days when I don’t feel like putting makeup on or doing my hair or whatever. And you don’t really want to get recognized or have your picture taken and you just kind of want to walk around with your friends and family and just be normal, I guess. It depends on the day.

Are there any books that you’ve read that you would like to turn into a movie and star in?

Yeah. I feel like I read a lot of autobiographies and I love a lot of spiritual and self-help books. I don’t know necessarily how you would turn those into a movie. Maybe if I could play Tina Fey, in her life story, that would be pretty awesome. I recently read her book “Bossypants.” I love her sense of humor. She’s just the coolest.

You have a great sense of style. Where do you get inspiration from?

So many different things I guess. I don’t know. I feel like having your own sense of style is another one of the coolest things for me, it’s like such a fun way to express myself. Every day when I wake up in the morning, I can dress however I want and take risks and wear something a little weird maybe. I don’t know just whatever makes me happy and I think I’ve been inspired by so many different people. Bianca Jagger who was married to Mick Jagger for a little bit. She’s like a ’70s icon. She has a really cool sense of style. I like people who don’t necessarily follow trends, but can make trends their own and kind of do things that are different.

What was your favorite episode from any one of your TV shows?

On “Zoey 101,” I remember one in particular where I was dressed up as a boy. That was really fun to be able to act like a boy and do like a lower voice and have a wig on and it was very unattractive. From “Victorious,” there are so many good episodes. Like being Louise Nordoff where I had the disguise on and the nose. That was really fun. I love the episode where we were all trapped in the RV together and it’s really hot and we’re fighting over water. Also the episode where we go to Uba and we all get to perform the [Jackson 5] song “I Want You Back.” That was really fun to have all the cast like dancing together and prison uniforms. That was a cool episode. “Eye Candy,” that’s the most recent show that I’ve done. I played a girl who was a computer hacker who was being stalked by a serial killer. If was very different to anything I’ve ever done. There was lots of action on that show.

Is there any music group or person you would like to work with?

So many people. I would love to work with someone like Meghan Trainor right now. I think she’s so good. I love her lyrics and her music and I love Cool Play and this band called Phoenix and I would love to work with Pharrell. I don’t know, so many people.

What show that you made do you miss most?

I think I miss them all for different reasons. I miss “Eye Candy.” I’m sad that it didn’t get picked up for another season, just because it was a really new cool role for me and I play a very strong female character. I love that whole cast so much. All of them. I don’t think I could really choose. It’s hard to say.

Are you still friends with the friends you grew up with?

I’ve kind of lost touch with a lot of people I grew up with because I moved to L.A. when I was 11 years old. I keep in touch with one person from Florida who was my best friend all throughout elementary school, but then I met a lot of friends when I came here, too. So it was kind of hard to keep in touch.

How old were you when you started acting?

I was 8 years old when I started acting. I did my first commercial when I was 8. It was for Ovaltine. It’s like a chocolate milk powder that you put in milk and that was my first job and then the rest is history, I guess.

[News] Victoria Justice to Recur on Fox’s ‘Cooper Barrett’

October 30, 2015 | News written by: Cristian | Leave a comment (0)

Victoria Justice is really exercising her funny bone. The actress-singer, who last had a regular series gig on MTV’s Eye Candy, is set to appear on Fox midseason comedy Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Justice has booked a recurring role on the half-hour. Her character, Romona Miller, a corporate shark who befriends Meaghan Rath’s character in an effort to get information on rival Cooper’s (Jack Cutmore-Scott) hangover cure. She’s described as “a titanium-tough cookie beneath a beguiling exterior.” It’s not yet clear how many episodes she’ll appear in.

Fox is bullish on Cooper Barrett. Despite its 2016 premiere, the network recently ordered another seven episodes of the series, bringing it to a full mideason 13. Though no official premiere date is set, the show is intended to air in the Tuesday, 9:30 p.m. time slot after New Girl — once Scream Queens has wrapped its run.

As for Justice, this is not the actress’ first appearance on a broadcast comedy this season. She recently appeared on a live episode of NBC’s Undateable.

[News] Victoria Justice: “If You Don’t Feel Healthy, Nothing Else Matters”

October 15, 2015 | News written by: Eliza | Leave a comment (0)

Victoria Justice is sitting in an empty restaurant in New York City, scrolling through her phone to find her favorite workout tracks. “Ooh—this one’s so good!” she says, flipping the screen my way to flash “Something Good Can Work” by Two Door Cinema Club. “Oh, of course all the Top 40 songs, like ‘Lean On’ by Major Lazer and ‘Fun’ by Pitbull. Oh my God, to me music is everything.”

It’s little surprise that the 22-year-old loves good music: She has been singing and acting since she was 12. Victoria has worked practically nonstop for a decade, starring in two shows for Nickelodeon (Zoey 101 and Victorious) and one for MTV (the acclaimed Eye Candy), recording music, doing two tours and landing roles in feature films. This fall, she stars in The Outskirts, about high school misfits who overthrow the popular kids, and Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List, about a girl who’s in love with a boy who’s in love with a boy.

When I ask how she finds time to exercise, she leans in as if to share a secret: “To be honest, I used to hate working out, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that it gives me so much more energy, and it just makes me feel so much better. I love taking classes to switch it up, so I’ll do a dancing class or a twerk class—”

Wait—a twerk class?

I’m not kidding. It’s actually a really great workout. After 10 minutes of twerking, your thighs and your butt feel it right away. [Laughs] But it’s so much fun. You feel free. It’s like, “Who cares? I’m twerking!”

Do you have a trainer?
I do, and we basically work out everything. He has me doing push-ups, squats, crunches, lifting free weights, jumping rope and all that stuff.

Any moves you dread?
Squats—especially when I’m carrying weights.

What helps you feel good about your body?
I try to meditate every day. It’s important to take that time, even if it’s just 10 minutes, to block everything out and get grounded again. And I love to lie on my hammock and read things that are inspirational and motivational, whether it’s a self-help book or an autobiography.

What books have you loved lately?
Ones from strong, smart, positive women. Tina Fey’s Bossypants, Mindy Kaling. I also have Amy Poehler’s and Lena Dunham’s books on my list.

Is it true you’re into natural health?
I’m all about the supplements. I take fish oil every single day, as well as vitamin D, magnesium, B complex, vitamin C. I drink lots of water, and I’ve been trying to do daily wheatgrass shots, but they’re awful and I have to plug my nose. We also have this shake in my house that we pretty much have every morning. It’s made of rice milk, bananas, Udo’s oil and protein powder. I’ve been drinking it ever since I was little.

Where did you hear about this magical shake?
My stepdad was at work, and [Olympic diver] Greg Louganis’ coach came in and said something like “Greg swears by this, he drinks this.” My stepdad came home and told my mom, my sister and me about it, and for, like, 15 years we’ve been drinking this shake.

Did you ever meet Greg Louganis?
One time at an event, my mom was like, “Oh my gosh, that’s Greg Louganis.” So I went up to him and said, “Hi, Greg, you probably don’t know who I am, but I just wanted to let you know I drink this shake you’ve been drinking that your coach told my dad about, and we all love it and feel great.” And he was like, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

That’s wild. Have you ever tried an extreme diet?
I actually have. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, which is a thyroid autoimmune disorder [that can interfere with thyroid function and affect metabolism]. This Korean acupuncturist put me on a super-strict diet, where I was a pescatarian [eating fish but no other meat]. I also couldn’t eat any sugar, wheat or dairy. I did that for about two months, and it was so intense.

Did you feel better?
I think it made my skin clearer and glow more. They had put me on this thyroid medication, and I think the levels were too high for me because it caused my skin to break out. All my life I’ve always had great skin, so it was really devastating. Also, at first, I was losing a lot of weight, then I went on tour and I started gaining weight, and it was the most I’d ever gained in my life. I was, like, 115 pounds. Then when I filmed a movie last summer, I actually went under 100 pounds. It was crazy, but things have leveled out, and I’m back to normal.

How do you cope with public scrutiny of your skin or your weight?
It definitely did affect my confidence, and it made me a little bit more self-conscious. But at the end of the day, I had the support of my family and friends. I knew that the people around me had my back. Now I really empathize with people who have issues with their skin, because it can get you down.

Do you still deal with Hashimoto’s?
I still have Hashimoto’s. But my numbers are back to normal, and I’m not on medication. I feel good.

You have an incredible amount of social media influence. Do you have fun with posting on Instagram and the like, or does it feel like pressure?
At times it can be a bit overwhelming because there are so many different ways to use social media. But at the end of the day, it’s just a great way to stay connected to the people who’ve supported me since the beginning. They’ve kind of grown up with me, and I know a lot of them by name and have relationships with a lot of these people. The best part is being able to share bits of my personality so they can see who I really am.

You never share too much; there’s no dirt on you!
Thank you. And knock on wood! There isn’t a lot of dirt, because what you see is what you get with me. I’m not pretending to be a different person on social media. I do it myself. I am who I am. I feel like if I was a diva or if I were doing all these crazy things on the side, people would find out. There’s not much you can hide nowadays.

When are you happiest?

When I’m with the people I love and trust. I’m such a homebody. I love watching movies with my dogs by my side. I also love discovering new music and making music, and to be onstage and let loose and have fun. To have people know the words is one of the best feelings ever.

In my hair kit
“Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. They are really good and sulfate-free, which is nice. I’ll put in a pea-size bit of oil to smooth down the flyaways, then blow-dry.”

Skin savers
“I try to use the Clarisonic every other day because it really deep-cleans. Your face feels like it’s glowing. I have a gel cleanser from Avalon Organics that I get at Whole Foods. And since I live in L.A., it’s so important to protect my skin from the sun, so I apply a tinted moisturizer with SPF by Revision Skincare.”

Makeup musts
“Burt’s Bees pomegranate lip balm is my favorite. I love this Bobbi Brown lipstick pencil in rose-brown. And, oh my God, I always have blotting sheets!”

Dream meal
“I’m a huge sushi fan. I have it every couple of days. Also Cuban food, like roasted pork and rice and beans. And tostones, when they’re flattened and fried and you dip them in garlic sauce.”

Favorite things in my closet
“I’m a jeans fanatic. It’s ridiculous how many jeans I have. I love DL1961 because they hug my body really well. Also Joe’s, Citizens of Humanity, Paige. But I recently gave a lot away to Goodwill.”
